An unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), commonly known as a drone, is an aircraft without a human pilot onboard. While drones were originally used mostly in military applications, their use has now rapidly expanded to recreational, scientific, commercial, agricultural, transportation, and many other domains. Drones are already being used for surveillance, photography, product deliveries, surveying terrain, and in many applications.

In our course on drone programming, you will learn about the idea’ that are fueling the progression and adoption of today’s drones! You are going to explore the different types of multi-rotor drones, understand the principles of drone flight, explore the utility of GPS in drone flight, and experience flight terminology. For the hobbyist, drones are great for taking spectacular photos and aerial footage. Drones further monitor construction projects, analyze crops, and survey new terrain.

For understanding and how you may want to use them, bitWise has a great course to support you and help you develop a better knowledge of drone applications. We have gathered ideas to teach students Computer Science fundamentals and drone programming through hands-on experimentation. Students will code using block-based programming language Scratch, Python, and JavaScript that really make it easy for any student to master coding.

This course is split into eight lessons with each lesson consisting of multiple topics and hands-on programming ideas and exercises. Students earn badges after completing each lesson. Students also earn a certification upon completing the entire course successfully.
