Coding for Kids
Coding has become wildly popular among kids as young as 5 or 6 years old. By the time a child is in Grade 4 or latest by the age of 10, most kids have experienced some block-based programming language or other. They have definitely played video games on a smart phone and used a computer. This track provides a structured approach to coding for kids between the ages of 6 to 15 and teaches them various programming skills. Our most popular course, “Introduction to Programming with Scratch” is a really exciting course that is a fundamental course for all students who are new to computer programming. This course introduces a student to the world of Scratch, which is a block-based programming language that was created at MIT. By the end of this course, students are coding the “Happy Birthday” song! Students progress to game programming, learn the fundamentals of art, graphics design, mobile game development and also learn how to design and build beautiful websites. This is the most popular track and popular set of courses for kids in elementary grade levels. There are several middle schoolers also who are taking advantage of this track and catching up with coding skills.
